We now offer MIM—Metal Injection Molding

MIM is a cost-effective method of producing highly complex metal parts at a potential savings of up to 50% versus casting or machining. MIM uses conventional injection-molding machines to inject resin loaded with metal powder.  After the parts are molded the resin is removed by “de-binding,” then the metal parts are sintered and finished as needed.

Advantages of MIM:

  • Very tight tolerances
  • Reduce/eliminate secondary operations
  • Shorter production cycles
  • Excellent surface finish.
  • Wide range of metals/alloys

  • Applications: Electronics, Aerospace/Defense, Medical Equipment, Hand Tools, Motors, Sensors, Bushings.

If you are reading this, you have discovered (and are deep within) our new website, inaugurated this month.  It is much more informative and, of course, more current than the one it replaces.

It is also easier for us to refresh and keep up-to-date.   Any comments or suggestions for additions will be appreciated.

We look forward to hearing from you!

    Best regards,

To all our customers and friends-

I would like to begin by thanking you for the relationship that we have developed and for all the business that you have given to us. All of us here at Pacific Plastics appreciate it.

Next, we are excited to announce that we began operation at a new location on March 29th.

We lost only two working days in the process, and we were fully operational by the end of the first week. By moving just 100 yards to the north, we increased our space by 50%, to 22,000 square feet and were able to consolidate our production and warehousing facilities. Increased capacity, lower overhead, and more efficient operation are key benefits of the move. And the work environment is greatly improved!

I want to reiterate our commitment to you-we will continue to provide injection molds and molded plastic parts with uncompromising product quality, on-time deliveryagainst tight schedules, excellent pricing, innovative technical support, and outstanding customer service. We are committed to meeting all of your requirements all of the time.

Here are some of the highlights of all of our capabilities:

    • Quality—our ISO certified operation assures quality product.
    • Delivery—our dedicated staff backed by a state-of-the-art ERP system insures on-time parts delivery. A highly evolved tooling process, astute technical competence and a fully integrated operation, yield quick-turn molds with minimal schedule risk.
    • Pricing—a lean, efficient operation, low overhead, and the ability to customize production/inspection requirements for each part keep prices low.
    • Technical Support—over 160 years combined experience in plastics and product development is available to address your needs.
    • Customer Service—our commitment to your satisfaction drives us to respond quickly and effectively to all of your needs.
Please come and visit us so we can show-off our new facility. Give me a call if you want the full dog and pony show, or if you are in the neighborhood, just stop in.

    Thanks again and best regards,

    Jae English

We have two pieces of good news to report coming into 2003.

On December 30th, we successfully completed our final audit for ISO 9001:2000 Certification, which made for a busy holiday season here at Pacific Plastics. It was our goal to clear the hurdle by the end of the year, and we made it!

We started the process of upgrading our Quality System to ISO standards in March. It was a major effort, but we are already seeing positive benefits in our quality and productivity metrics.

The second item is that we have just installed a 500-ton press, which significantly increases our production capacity. Two new molds are scheduled to be on-line by the end of the month. Of course, we have additional capacity that we are hoping to fill as the year progresses.

Here's to a great 2003 for all of us,

    Jae English
